Rural Care Empowerment International (REI) is a community-driven nonprofit organisation serving vulnerable populations across Western and Northeastern Uganda.
RuralCare Empowerment International (REI) was founded in May 2018 by Mr. Gerald Nasasira and Dr. Beingana Gilbert, together with a committed team of volunteers. Driven by the urgent need to address poverty in rural areas, the organization began its work in the villages of Western Uganda and has since expanded to Northeastern Uganda.
Today, REI collaborates with over 100 villages, empowering communities to identify their own challenges and develop sustainable solutions.
We work with:
• Local leaders and mobilizers
• Youth and women groups
• Government and community stakeholders
Through community dialogues, training, and partnership-building, we create pathways for long-term development and resilience
We are community-driven. That means we listen first, collaborate closely, and design interventions that are relevant to people’s lived realities. We do not only respond to urgent needs; we invest in long-term empowerment.
To empower vulnerable individuals and families through community-driven programs in health, education, mindset transformation, and sustainable livelihoods.
To build resilient, empowered, and self-sustaining communities where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
Compassion, integrity, inclusion, empowerment, sustainability, and accountability.
REI works across communities in Western and Northeastern Uganda, partnering with local leaders, households, schools, and other stakeholders to deliver relevant, community-rooted support.
